Over three nights at the Fumbally Stables a series of creative encounters will generate a whole range of new and exciting work.

Erik Friedlander & Nadine Khouri
Erik Friedlander & Silver Kites
Cellist Erik Friedlander started studying music at an early age, beginning at 5 with guitar, and then at 8, cello lessons. He grew up in a house filled with music, as his father, an avid music lover, made countless mixtapes which played daily in their home. Erik spent his twenties honing his skills as a player and an improviser and quickly became a sought after studio musician, performing on the Downtown music scene and with artists as diverse as The Mountain Goats, John Zorn, Dave Douglas and Courtney Love. Erik's desire to actively participate in the swirl of music styles he was surrounded by led him to find new ways to play the cello and drives his solo work which is varied and unusual.
“Mr. Friedlander, an ingenious cellist who makes an art of soulful rusticity,“ NYTimes
"Erik Friedlander can do things with a cello that should have a reasonable listener fearing for her life," says Pitchfork. "Rostropovich one second and Rottweiler the next."inv
Nadine Khouri - voice
Nadine Khouri is a musician and songwriter currently based in London.
An early devotee of shoegaze and the noir-ish melancholia of bands such as Mazzy Star and Low, Khouri began her career as an acoustic singer-songwriter in New York, self-releasing her first EP ‘A Song to the City’. A mix of folk and atmospheric indie-rock, her material ranged in influence from Leonard Cohen to dream-pop.
Returning to London, she eventually crossed paths with producer John Parish (PJ Harvey, This is the Kit) and began writing songs for what would become ‘The Salted Air’.
Recorded live with Parish in his hometown Bristol, her debut album ‘The Salted Air’ is a haunting collection of poetic meditations on loss and transformation. Released in 2017, the album earned plaudits from the likes of MOJO and Drowned In Sound, was celebrated by Q (Feb 2017 Critics Choice) and selected as one of Rough Trade’s Albums of the Year 2017.
In the past year, Khouri has performed in Europe and the UK and shared the stage with artists such as Low, John Parish, Adrian Crowley, Aldous Harding and more.
Her forthcoming EP ‘A New Dawn’ was recorded in between touring commitments and is due for release on the 26th of October.
“A thing of dark, possessed beauty... extraordinary voice: a fragile, sensuous instrument” - MOJO ★★★★
