THIS PLACE IS A SHELTER
Celebrating their return home after a tour in Ireland and UK with American composer Harold Budd, West Cork’s neo-classical collaborators The Vespertine Quintet present:
‘This Place is a Shelter’ - 2 consecutive Sunday evening performances in De Barra’s Folk Club where they have invited friends from other artistic disciplines to re-interpret their own music: a percussionist, 2 dancers and a poet.
After two winter residencies in the folk club, which saw the quintet collaborate with and make their own interpretations of well-known artists’ music (such as Adrian Crowley and Liam O Maonlai), they are now turning the tables, presenting a mini-festival of celebration of how all art forms can shine light on each other. Come into the warm shelter of De Barras and find solace in two unique multi-sensory concerts.
Sunday May 20th: Featuring interpretations of Vespertine Quintet by Rajinder Singh (tabla and Indian percussion) and Inma Pavon (contemporary dance).
