There are no age restrictions for this event.Cork Youth Orchestra is excited to announce details of its 2023 Concert Tour to Italy, called Reflections of Ireland. The Orchestra, under conductor Tomás McCarthy, will represent Cork and Ireland at the FOG Festival of Youth Orchestras in Italy, performing open air concerts in Montecatini, Volterra and Florence, on July 4th. 6th and 8th.The Cork concert on June 30th City Hall Cork will be in aid of a very special charity helping the homeless: Cork Penny Dinners
The programme includes: ‘The Brendan Voyage’ by Shaun Davey with Soloist Shane Keating, Uilleann Pipes. The Irish Suite by Leroy Anderson, Aisling by Declan Townsend, Finnegan’s Wake by A.J. Potter, and a special orchestra favourite, Danzon No.2 by Arturo Marquez.
2023 marks the 65th year anniversary of CYO. Founded in 1958, CYO is now the largest and oldest Youth Orchestra in Ireland with 141 members, aged from 14-19, representing both Cork City and County.
