With thirty plus years booking gigs and helping careers for other artists, Michael Banahan is now launching his own album of original work; BROKEN HEART on Friday October 24th.

The release of this beautiful record will be celebrated in Michael’s home town the weekend in advance of its national release, in this beautiful, intimate and eclectic surroundings of Rummage Antique Shop on Lower Castle Street in Roscommon. Tickets are limited for this very special show.

Broken Heart, written by Michael and co-produced with Bill Shanley; one of Ireland’s legendary guitarists & record producers, is on release October 24th. Reflecting on the experience, Michael shares: “The process was healing in many ways, and as always, working with Bill on the production was a gentle and positive journey.”

Possibly best known as a manager and promoter during the last 30+ years, bringing some amazing music to the North Midlands while attracting attention to the music of this Irish region also. Over the years Michael has worked with many greats, including Eleanor Shanley, Sharon Shannon, Charlie McGettigan, Mick Hanley, Paul Brady, Christy Moore, Sean Keane, Luka Bloom, Ultan Conlon, Ralph McTell and Louise Killeen, and many others. Indeed, some have already listened to Broken Heart; their feedback clearly displaying the love and respect each holds Michael and his work;

This wonderful evening of music and conversation takes place October 18th. Doors will be open from 7.00pm and the show will commence soon after at 7.30pm. Limited tickets priced €20.00 including booking fees are now on sale.

The Tango, is the lead single from this album of eleven deeply personal songs; capturing heartbreak, yet full of hope. While Broken Heart is Michael’s debut of original solo work; he has released others also, including five with Rig The Jig, (founding member). No previous achievement quite captures the personal significance of Broken Heart; a deeply meaningful milestone in his musical journey.
