Cork Youth Orchestra is excited to announce details of its 2026 Concert Tour to Italy, Reflections of Ireland. The Orchestra, under conductor Tomás McCarthy, will represent Cork and Ireland at the FOG Festival of Youth Orchestras in Italy, performing open air concerts in Montecatini, Volterra and Florence, on the 7th, 9th and 11th of July 2026. The Cork concert is on the 3rd of July in City Hall Cork.
The programme includes: ‘The Brendan Voyage’ by Shaun Davey with Soloist Naoise Marron, Uilleann Pipes, The Irish Suite by Leroy Anderson, Aisling by Declan Townsend, Finnegan’s Wake by A.J. Potter, and a special orchestra favourite, Danzon No.2 by Arturo Marquez.
2026 marks the 68th year anniversary of CYO. Founded in1958, CYO is now the largest and oldest Youth Orchestra in Ireland with 147 members, aged from 14-20, representing both Cork City and County.
